Edit: Solution at the bottom of this post. Per the subject. My current setup only resolves domainname.com. www.domainname.com gives a 522 error. My Setup: Setup a repository on GitHub, added it to CloudFlare pages. domainname.pages.dev resolves properly. Registered domainname.com via CloudFlare. In CloudFlare, domainname.com > DNS Records > set 2 records Type: CNAME, Name: domainname.com, … Read More “How to setup DNS Records on CloudFlare such that both www.domainname.com and domainname.com point to the same GitHub webpage?” »

I am trying to set up bind9 using views, and thought I had it configured correctly based on what I’ve seen online, but I keep getting a error when starting: /etc/bind/named.conf.default-zones:2: when using ‘view’ statements, all zones must be in views I haven’t added duplicated listings for the zones in each view, is that required? … Read More “Bind9 and view problem” »
According to “Microsoft Specialist Guide to Microsoft Windows 10-1e-wright/9781285868578PF/)” (2017), PTR records are not commonly implemented for IPv6. The reasoning is not explained, and I can’t seem to find anything on the web to back it up. Is there an explanation for this claim? submitted by /u/NOICEST [link] [comments] Powered by WPeMatico

I’ve noticed that IP addresses 5.44.139.0, 5.44.139.1, .., 5.44.139.255 all point to “netcompany.com.” I wonder: Does that comply with standards? My immediate thought was that the above setup is non-compliant, because I’m thinking PTR-records should point to unique names (which then point back to the IP address, ideally). But on the other hand: Is this … Read More “All PTRs on a network pointing to one name” »
Hi, I benchmarked AdGuard DNS, NextDNS and ControllD in order to see which adblocking DNS resolves the fastest in my area. Same lists and settings enabled on all of them. Cached it is the order 1. AdGuard 2. NextDNS 3. ControllD but uncached it is the exact opposite.
