In my current setup, I have example.com DNS hosted on NetworkSolutions. I have an MX record for mail.example.com, and both domain and subdomain are connected to M365. Everything works so far. The subdomain is only established through the MX record. When doing a dns benchmark test from Gibson, my isp dns is the fastest, followed by cloudflare. Quad9 is way down the list.
